Police Nab 24-Year-Old Suspect In Stafford Fatal Shooting

Stafford police arrested a 24-year-old man in a fatal shooting incident, officials said.

On September 7, just after 10:30 p.m., officers found a man on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound in front of an apartment complex on Declaration Drive, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. 

The victim, 45-year-old Anthony Johnson, later died of his injuries at a local hospital, authorities said.

After further investigation into the incident, law enforcement arrested William McQueen for second degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, authorities reported.

Law enforcement said McQueen was held a the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
